The MLTSS Association and the Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP), Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP), Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), Medicaid Health Plans of America (MHPA), and Special Needs Plans Alliance (SNP Alliance) have sent a letter to Congressional leadership to express support for extended funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). Quality, affordable broadband has become essential to millions of Americans’ ability to access health care providers, supports, and services. Due to the expiration of funding for the ACP, new applications for enrollment have been stopped, with April 2024 as the last fully funded month of the program. We urge Congress to pass a funding extension for the ACP to ensure continued access to broadband for eligible households, including those that can use the ACP for vital needs such as accessing health care providers and services.
