MLTSS Association Publishes Brief on Behavioral Health and LTSS

The MLTSS Association has created a brief that that highlights the intersection between behavioral health and long-term care needs. This brief underscores that behavioral health integration has critical implications for both LTSS integration as well as integrated care products for dually eligible beneficiaries. This brief provides recommendations to strengthen the relationship between behavioral health and LTSS including:

• Promoting Medicaid Integration of LTSS and Behavioral Health in Managed Care Contracts

• Launching Joint Workforce Development Initiatives

• Strengthening Data and Integration and Sharing

• Aligning County and State-Based Services

• Promoting Levels of Care that Allow Individuals to Stay in their Communities
