In August, members of the House Budget Committee launched a new Health Care Task Force, charged with seeking ways to cut health care spending, modernize the health care system, and promote innovation for better access to affordable, quality care. As part of these efforts, the Task Force released a Request for Information (RFI) on solutions to improve health outcomes while reducing health care spending. In our response to the RFI, we discussed how aging demographics will impact our LTSS delivery system, elevated MLTSS as a key solution to reduce costs, improve outcomes, rebalance, and respect enrollee preferences, noted our past recommendations on how to best expand access to HCBS including our recent Direct Care Workforce report, and outlined our updated integrated care policy proposals.
